Healing Hearts, Healing Homes: How Our NCS Workshop Supports Asheville’s Future

In the wake of Hurricane Helene, Asheville faced tremendous challenges. The storm brought widespread devastation to our beautiful city—homes were damaged or destroyed, businesses were impacted, and families were displaced. Many in our community suffered heartbreaking losses, and the road to recovery will be long and difficult. But through it all, Asheville has shown its strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit.

As a part of this community, we at The Phoenix Asheville knew we had to do our part in supporting the recovery efforts. While our property was fortunate enough to remain unscathed, we understand that rebuilding Asheville requires more than just physical restoration. It’s about healing hearts, rebuilding lives, and supporting one another as we move forward.

The Phoenix Asheville: A Space for Healing and Support

The Phoenix Asheville is more than a retreat center—it’s a place where transformation happens. While we are thankful our space was not affected by the hurricane, we felt it was crucial to contribute to the efforts to help Asheville heal and recover. This is why we organized a special fundraising event featuring our signature NeuroChangeSolutions (NCS) workshop, with all proceeds going directly to help those affected by the storm.

The NCS workshop is one of our core offerings. This transformative experience, rooted in neuroscience, is designed to help individuals make lasting changes in their lives. We’ve hosted NCS workshops mainly in Asheville, but we also bring it to various locations, and each time, the impact has been profound. But this time, we wanted to ensure that our workshop not only empowered the participants but also played a key role in the recovery of our community.

The NeuroChangeSolutions Workshop: Empowering Transformation and Rebuilding Asheville

NeuroChangeSolutions (NCS) is a neuroscience-based program that helps individuals unlock their full potential by shifting their mindset, behavior, and emotional well-being. The workshop is designed to help participants overcome challenges, improve their mental and emotional resilience, and create lasting change. It’s a powerful tool for personal growth—and in this case, it was also an opportunity for participants to directly support Asheville’s recovery.

This event was more than just a transformative experience for those who attended. It was a way for us to give back to our city. All proceeds from the NCS workshop will be donated to help rebuild Asheville’s homes, businesses, and lives that were affected by the hurricane. Through the generosity of those who attended, we were able to raise much-needed funds to aid in the rebuilding process, helping to restore both physical structures and the emotional well-being of those impacted.

Testimonials: Healing Through Action

While the NCS workshop provided participants with life-changing tools, it also gave them a meaningful way to give back. Here’s what some of them had to say about their experience:

  • Thank you for introducing me to Dr. Joe’s program. It was truly a transformative experience, and the timing couldn’t have been better, especially with how overwhelming the world can feel these days. The course provided me with practical tools that I can now apply daily to manage stress and improve my focus.
The structure of the course was easy to follow, and I appreciated how Marsha engaged with everyone in the room. It was also impressive how she remembered responses from the previous day—this speaks volumes about the effectiveness of the program and its process. – Haresh Persaud
  • Marsha was an incredibly impactful facilitator of this method—gentle yet firm. I truly enjoyed the stories she shared, and while we only had two days for the program, I would have loved more time for the storytelling. I am so grateful that this program took place now, at such a critical time in my life. The world may seem to be in one place, but I’ve been focused on me.
I needed this new, focused approach. I had reached the end of my rope, and already, today feels different. I’m more resilient, more empowered, and the ‘future me’ is now the ‘present me.’ I’ve crossed the threshold. Even the set, the setting, and the incredible group of people created a profound and impactful experience.
    – Leiti Hsu
  • These two days have been incredibly informative. I’ve learned practical ways to calm myself, especially while living in a stressful environment with a demanding job—raising two young children, working full-time, and trying to find time for myself. I realized that I can’t stay in ‘survival mode’ all the time. Outside stressors have a significant impact on both my mental and physical health. Meditation has become a valuable tool for change, helping me to find calm in the chaos.
I truly appreciate the opportunity to experience this workshop and explore new ways of living in the present moment.
    – Sally Zhu

A Path Forward: Rebuilding Asheville Together

The proceeds from the NCS workshop are already making a difference, helping rebuild homes, restore businesses, and provide much-needed relief to those in need.

We believe that true healing involves more than just physical recovery—it’s about nurturing the hearts and spirits of those affected. Our commitment to Asheville’s recovery doesn’t end here. Looking ahead to next year, we plan to donate a percentage of all retreats booked at The Phoenix Asheville to support the ongoing rebuilding efforts in our community.

Through these initiatives, we aim to do more than just provide financial support. We hope to inspire a collective effort that will heal hearts, restore lives, and empower Asheville to emerge stronger and more united than ever. Together, WE RISE.
