The Power of Pausing: Why Intentional Forum Retreats Matter for Leaders

Entrepreneurs spend most of their lives in constant motion. We build businesses, lead teams, make hard decisions, and hold space for others. In that fast rhythm, finding time to look inward is rare.

At the first week of May 2026, we hosted the EO DC Dream Team Forum for a Change Your Mind, Create New Results workshop. This experience was deeply personal for me because EO DC was my original chapter. Reconnecting with the community that shaped my own entrepreneurial journey felt like a true full-circle moment.

Welcoming this group reminded me of the global reach of this community. Over the years, we have hosted various groups at our property, including international Forums traveling from Mexico and chapters from all around the world. The energy and vulnerability the DC Dream Team brought to the room reminded me why Forum is so vital, no matter where your chapter originates.

A Highly Structured Space for True Growth
An EO Forum is a confidential monthly gathering where six to ten members share their experiences. Led by a trained peer Moderator, it provides a highly structured and safe environment for members to discuss deeply personal and professional challenges with those who best understand.

Our workshop extended that exact mission. We used the tools and knowledge gained from the Change Your Mind, Create New Results program, created and developed by Dr. Joe Dispenza, to examine how internal patterns shape leadership, relationships, and decisions.

Running a business every day makes it easy to rely on default habits. Slowing down helps you see those patterns clearly. That awareness allows you to make different choices and achieve different results. Forum is not just about sharing business experiences. It is about creating that trusted environment where growth as a human being happens alongside growth as a leader.

Our Forum retreat at The Phoenix Asheville was an incredible experience, and I would 100% recommend it for an EO Forum retreat. I felt I got to know my forum mates on a deeper level and truly bonded with them in a meaningful way. A favorite experience was the walk to the river, which was peaceful and beautiful, and a great way to restore energy and open up to the teachings. I learned that I need to get out of survival mode and back into thriving mode. Marsha did a great job pacing the content and facilitating the experience. The house is beautiful, and the food is delicious, which made the entire experience even more special.

Beyond the Workshop: Shared Experiences in Nature
While our core workshops provide the mental framework for growth, we know that breakthroughs also happen outside the classroom. The environment you choose for a Forum retreat directly impacts your results. We built The Phoenix Asheville to serve as a physical circuit breaker from daily stress.

To help members break out of routine habits, we curate personalized itineraries based on your group’s preferences. We offer a wide variety of activities designed to help your group ground themselves and interact on a human level. Here are just a few examples of what we can include in your retreat:

  • Guided outdoor hiking through the Asheville landscape
  • Mindful walking meditations
  • Intentional cacao ceremonies
  • Evening fire circles to reflect on the day

When you remove the pressure of daily operations through these shared moments, your mind relaxes. That relaxation opens the door for the deep, confidential breakthroughs that make Forum so powerful.

Looking Ahead: Connecting Forums with the Community
Your business cannot outgrow your own self-awareness. Taking time for a retreat is an investment in your leadership capability and your peer community.

We are constantly evolving our retreat offerings to better serve entrepreneurs. This year, we are preparing something even bigger. We plan to introduce new elements to our Forum retreats, including curated opportunities to interface directly with local businesses and regional leaders. This will give visiting groups a unique way to gain fresh perspectives outside their own industries.

We are incredibly grateful to the EO DC Dream Team Forum, and to all the global Forums who have trusted us over the years. Your willingness to bring real energy into this space proves why the EO community is so impactful.
